Three things to know before you buy

  • 1
You'll need a level base. Gravel, slab or deck blocks — sized 9′1½″ × 9′1½″. Not included.
  • 2
Roof boards are included; the top layer isn't. The 19° pitch takes shingles, metal or PVC — match the house.
  • 3
It arrives as sanded, kiln-dried, untreated spruce. Bare wood has no weather protection, so stain or paint it within the first few weeks — you pick the color.

Delivery, then a weekend.

Step 1

Order — on your schedule

Buy now, build later: tell us when you want delivery and we hold the kit. Free shipping in the lower 48.

Step 2

Arrives in 1–3 weeks

One flat-packed pallet, about 1,790 lbs, every board pre-cut to size.

Step 3

Curbside drop-off

The dispatcher calls to agree a window. The pallet is too big for a liftgate, so it comes off by hand — plan on two people for about an hour. Driver-assisted unloading and expedited delivery can be added for a fee; ask us for a quote when you order.

Step 4

Build it — 1–2 days

Check the pallet against the packing list in the first 30 days — anything damaged or missing ships free. Boards interlock tongue-and-groove; no framing skills needed. Manual, blueprint and video library included.

Tight street, steep drive, or an island address? Call before ordering — we'll check the route with the carrier so there are no surprises on the day.

The company is super responsive

“The company is super responsive and the product is awesome! Any question, any time - answered. Everything went exactly as they said it would and the shipment arrived even faster than expected, so I had to postpone delivery until the pad was ready. I love it, and everyone who sees it wants one. I did a ton of research before making the decision to purchase from here. Thank you for providing a product you take so much pride in - it shows.”

Great communication and service regarding delivery and assembly. Solid, and beautiful product!

“We ordered 'The Myrtle' originally to be delivered 2nd week of September. Unfortunately Hurricane Helene came through Western North Carolina and we called to delay delivery. The staff at Solid Build are knowledgeable, kind and always available. Delivery was the 2nd week of November. Everything went perfectly from delivery to assembly. My husband and a friend put it together in 2 days, and we painted the exterior in 2 days. It is going to be my 'She shed' for reading, meditating and yoga. It is very well built, and a wonderful addition to our back yard space. My only disappointment is that the door handles are satin brass, the keyplate is polished brass and the hinges appear to be galvanized steel. I wish it was matching satin brass!”

I would suggest assembling it immediately.

“I would suggest assembling it immediately. Many of my boards were warped and it made construction difficult.”

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

At 80 sq ft this model sits under the 120 sq ft threshold most US counties use, so a permit usually isn't required. Rules vary by county and HOA, so one call to your local building department settles it. Every kit includes a blueprint you can hand them if plans are asked for.
A level, well-drained base sized 9′1½″ × 9′1½″, flat within ¼″. A compacted gravel pad, deck blocks or a timber frame all work; a concrete slab is the premium route but is not required. Most owners do it in an afternoon for $250–$700. The foundation calculator gives you the shopping list and cut list.
The 19° pitch takes shingles, metal or PVC — match the house. Budget $200–600 for the roofing. Roof boards themselves are included in the kit.
Most owners finish in 1–2 days with basic tools — hammer, drill, level, ladder. The wall boards interlock tongue-and-groove, so no framing skills are needed. Manual, blueprint and video library are included, and the support line answers mid-build questions.
Yes. Insulate the roof above the T&G boards under your roofing layer, and the floor between the joists. The walls are solid 1⅜″ (34 mm) double T&G spruce with good thermal mass; pair with a mini-split for full climate control.
Yes — most office and studio builds do. Conduit surface-mounts neatly along the solid wood walls with clips, so no in-wall channels are needed and the wiring stays inspectable. Plan the trench or overhead run before the build. A shed under 120 sq ft rarely needs a building permit, but the electrical work usually does — ask your city whether it wants a permit and an inspection.
Free curbside freight in the lower 48. One flat-packed pallet of about 1,790 lbs arrives 1–3 weeks after ordering; the dispatcher calls first to agree a window. The pallet is too big for a liftgate, so it comes off by hand, board by board — plan on two people for about an hour. Driver-assisted unloading and expedited delivery can be added for a fee; ask us for a quote when you order.
The two opening side windows install toward the front or the back of the side walls — you decide during assembly, at no cost. The French door and the two tall front windows are engineered into the front wall panel and cannot move. An add-on double window ($495) can go into either side wall.
