Felt Paper + Asphalt Shingles: Most popular. Easy DIY. Roofs 2:12 and steeper; under 4:12 lay them over two felt layers or an ice-and-water shield.
Felt Paper + Cedar Shingles: Premium natural look. Roofs 3:12 and steeper.
Asphalt Roll (2-Ply): Cost-effective for flat/low-slope roofs. Self-adhered two-layer system; from 1/4:12 by code (GAF Liberty says 1/2:12).
MFM Peel & Seal: Self-adhesive, reflective. From 1/2:12; lay a plywood or OSB layer over the roof boards first.

How do I use this estimate?

What does the estimate include?

Two parts. Your SolidBuild order is the shed kit and any add-ons, at today's store prices. Local materials are what you buy yourself, such as the foundation, roofing, stain or paint and insulation. It covers materials only, before sales tax; labor, permits, site preparation and electrical work are not included.

Is this a quote or an order?

No. It is a planning estimate to help you budget the whole project. Only the SolidBuild order is bought from us, at checkout. Prices for local materials vary by store and region, so check your supplier.

Where do the local prices come from?

They are typical home-improvement-store prices (Home Depot and Lowe's, September 2026), with the roofing rates checked at California stores. Roofing quantities already include a 10% waste allowance.

What foundation does a SolidBuild shed need?

A level base: concrete pavers, a wood frame on gravel or on blocks, concrete piers, or a concrete slab. The best choice depends on your terrain, soil and local building codes.

How long does assembly take?

It depends on the model: the estimate shows an estimated DIY build time for the shed you pick. Every kit is pre-cut for DIY assembly with basic tools.

Is shipping free?

The shed kit ships free to the lower 48. Add-on windows and the veranda ship at a calculated rate.
