Three things to know before you buy

  • 1
You'll need a level base. Gravel, slab or deck blocks — sized 9′2¼″ × 9′2¼″. Not included.
  • 2
Roof boards are included; the top layer isn't. The 15° pitch takes shingles, metal or PVC — match the house.
  • 3
It arrives as sanded, kiln-dried, untreated spruce. Bare wood has no weather protection, so stain or paint it within the first few weeks — you pick the color.

Everyone I show my little cabin to loves it

“Everyone I show my little cabin to loves it. Great design and quality. Highly recommend The design and materials were great. The hardware was a little suspect. I replaced some of the screws with more durable ones. But I'm very happy.”

I am thrilled with my Gardener 10x10 storage shed

“I am thrilled with my Gardener 10x10 storage shed! I would say I love it but my wife is already suspicious that I spend too much time there. My original plan was to design and build a shed, but then I remembered my cousin’s shed in Sweden and decided to investigate that. Solid Build makes that style, which is exactly what I wanted and for less money than my design-it-from-scratch model. With all of their styles and options, any need is covered. I chose a basic storage shed and added a window. It worked for me and the space I had available. To be honest, there is a lot of work to put up a shed. I put quite a bit of effort into getting the foundation built. I also included an adjacent 10x10 deck and installed electric lights and outlets. However, the actual assembly of the shed is not difficult; it was fun. This has created a remote room that can be used year round and I’m confident it adds to the value of our house. The 4 criteria: Design: They are so clever at Solid Build. The interlocking board design makes for a clean looking structure, inside and out. The operation of the windows is very functional. The doors and windows can be removed from their hinge mounts. The final appearance is a mix of rustic and modern. Quality: The boards came well packaged and were in fine condition: straight and true. Just to be sure, they include a couple extra. Because I had extra wood from cutting the window opening, I made a small table that matches the shed. Also, the hardware is good quality. Price: As I said, I don’t think I could have bought my own boards and supplies for a lower total cost. Support: Their email support to answer questions before the purchase and during the construction were timely, helpful and friendly. Believe me, I asked a lot of questions! The instructions were thorough. I also want to applaud the young couple that delivered the kit to my house. They were friendly and helpful.”

Seems like agents have poor understanding of the products they are selling.

“The products only include the bones so you need to come up with alternative idea for the bottom/ground. Seems like agents have poor understanding of the products they are selling. I asked them to add additional windows to my product when I realize there were none included, then the agent replied saying that my purchased product already included three windows. I doubted but then I thought he knew better than me so I didn’t say much. However when I received the product, my worry came true. With all the hassle of suez canal, I completely understand the delayed shipping however setting a delivery date was an another issue. Once I booked available date shown on their calendar I shortly got a message that the date I picked is not actually available. So agent and I communicated to decide on which date is best for the delivery, I gave the agent alternative dates, never received returning confirmation email, leaving me confused. Then the next day the product was delivered to my house when I wasn’t at home, my other family member manage to handle the situation. Overall the whole situation seems not professional compared to the money I invested in the product.”

Great product!

“I was very excited the day my Gardener storage shed arrived! Once I began the assembly process it went up quickly providing us with immediate satisfaction. We made a couple small mistakes with the roof boards, but was easily corrected. Now that it is built, stained and has a metal roof, I am excited to use as a camping cabin for me and my family. I am very satisfied and look forward to many years of enjoyment!”

Beautiful shed that I am using as a cabin in the woods!

“I was extremely excited to receive delivery of my Gardner 10 x 10 storage shed. Once I began the assembly process, the shed went up quickly and easily. Our real challenge occurred with the roof boards, which we learned the hard way are specific to”

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

At 81 sq ft this model sits under the 120 sq ft threshold most US counties use, so a permit usually isn't required. Rules vary by county and HOA, so one call to your local building department settles it. Every kit includes a blueprint you can hand them if plans are asked for.
A level, well-drained base sized 9′2¼″ × 9′2¼″, flat within ¼″. A compacted gravel pad, deck blocks or a timber frame all work; a concrete slab is the premium route but is not required. Most owners do it in an afternoon for $250–$700. The foundation calculator gives you the shopping list and cut list.
The 15° pitch takes shingles, metal or PVC — match the house. Budget $200–600 for the roofing. Roof boards themselves are included in the kit.
Most owners finish in 1–2 days with basic tools — hammer, drill, level, ladder. The wall boards interlock tongue-and-groove, so no framing skills are needed. Manual, blueprint and video library are included, and the support line answers mid-build questions.
Yes. Insulate the roof above the T&G boards under your roofing layer, and the floor between the joists. The walls are solid 1⅛″ (28 mm) T&G spruce with good thermal mass; pair with a mini-split for full climate control.
Yes — most office and studio builds do. Conduit surface-mounts neatly along the solid wood walls with clips, so no in-wall channels are needed and the wiring stays inspectable. Plan the trench or overhead run before the build. A shed under 120 sq ft rarely needs a building permit, but the electrical work usually does — ask your city whether it wants a permit and an inspection.
Free curbside freight in the lower 48. One flat-packed pallet of about 1,290 lbs arrives 1–3 weeks after ordering; the dispatcher calls first to agree a window. The pallet is too big for a liftgate, so it comes off by hand, board by board — plan on two people for about an hour. Driver-assisted unloading and expedited delivery can be added for a fee; ask us for a quote when you order.
The two opening side windows install toward the front or the back of the side walls — you decide during assembly, at no cost. The French door and the two tall front windows are engineered into the front wall panel and cannot move. An add-on double window ($495) can go into either side wall.
